the story behind hi friend

hi friend was born nearly 20 years ago...

I met a handful of amazing new humans and their vibe was pure kindness - they were the happy and optimistic kind of humans...the more we hung out, the more I loved them. Each and every time we met, it opened with the same warm, friendly, soul fed 'hi friend!'. It was palpable. I know it sounds too simple to be true yet it was. The power that came within those two words became forever embedded into my soul. And for whatever reason, it simply stuck. Regardless of who I met from that day forward - hi friend always followed.

It's a feeling.
A connection.
A genuine vibe.

I started greeting everyone as if I already knew them, and just like that, people responded. They picked up on it. They felt it. Before I knew it, people were returning the greeting...and it simply spread like wildfire.

As the years passed, people continually told me to trademark it. I eventually did. Unsure of what to do next, I started ordering samples and shirts with the simple hi friend logo. As they piled up in my office, I pushed them off on my friends and family...and that's where the magic happened. As my friends and family began wearing our hi friend shirts, complete strangers began saying 'hi friend' in response to the shirt... 

I promise you that I cannot make this stuff up.

Sometimes the simplest things in life are just that simple.
